Message: I have always felt it was unfortunate that Manitoba did not win the provincial boundary dispute back in ?? Our interests would be so much better served if our provincial capital was Winnipeg. I have lived most of my adult life in S.W. Ontario, and have just returned to my home town after retiring. Southern Ontario is a world apart! It's great to see that we have an alternative party for which to vote. Good going, Charmaine! It takes courage to do what you are doing.

Message: It's about time Northern Ontario had its own party. We need better control of our resources and less interference from Toronto, which just about has an MPP on every street corner.

Message: It is time to create awareness for NOHP. This needs to be the party that you vote for if you live in the North. Every person who has posted comments in this forum, wanting to see change for Northern Ontario, the time is now. Local rallies from Thunder Bay to Arnprior need to be initiated. Our communities need to know that we CAN have a voice in parliament. It's time to make your vote count for something.

Message: A serious discussion on a long-term vision for Northern Ontario is far over due. It is the responsibility of Northern Ontarians of all political stripes to work together to achieve common goals. Together, we can work to achieve sustainable economic prosperity, help Northern families stay in Northern Ontario, responsibly manage our natural resources for our children, and celebrate the unique linguistic and cultural heritage of our beloved North.

They need to support the industries and businesses that still exist. Help to create jobs and sustainable futures for our youth to remain in the north! I support a government that supports us!

Message: All issues concerning Northern Ontario ie: energy costs, youth emigration, conservation, land use, native issues, taxation and jobs can only be resolved through negotiation; between Northern representatives elected by us, and the province of Manitoba. The NOHP must have seperation from Southern Ontario as a core plank, and Manitoba is a natural partner. The random lines drawn years ago on a map no longer represents the reality of the people trapped within. I am an Ontarian no longer ...

Message: I was about to give up voting,as none of the current provincial political parties represents me and my fellow northerners. If & when the NOHP hes a candidate in my riding,he or she will definately get my vote! I truly believe northern ontario would be better off,as a separate province from ontario!

Message: Subject: A voice for Northern Ontario
The liberals, consevatives and the NDPs all speak for their respective parties. Northern Ontario has no voice. When it comes to policies Queen's Park benefits from those policies. Northern MPPs tow the party line they don't really rtepresent the voters. This is why the NOHP need your support. By not having any ties to southern ONtario the NOHP MPPs will represent Northern voters.
Join the party and support the NOHP. what do we have to lose....

Message: I'd love to see aubstainal investment in our Northern Ontario rail infractructure that would include high speed passenger rail service connecting all the major centres (North Bay, Timmins, Sudbury. Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay). With hight speed rail able to travel 200 to 300 mph, this would compete nicely with expensive air travel in a timely fashion. It would draw we Northerners closer together, a vision perhaps not unlike that of Sir John A. MacDonald's "National Dream"!

Message: I think the reason we can't understand the stupidity of governments that allow foreigners to take over our natural resources is that they're not stupid at all - it's just that they are more interested in foreign companies than the people who live here and depend on those resources for survival. The selling-out of our mines and forests to people far away will continue, make no mistake, until we who live here stand up and take control of the political agenda ourselves.

Message: Yes let us get back Northern Ontario as the south sure do not inder stand isolation/ population/ distance from each other
We as Northerners need a voice to keep what we have and bring back what we have all lost to the south. It is a good thing they could not move our orr mines and what about our hydro dams that they want to sell off.???
Yes lets be heard.

Message: If we're really serious about reviving this party, we're going to have to make more efforts to involve the First Nations Communities. Nobody up here has suffered more from southern-centric legislation than they have, or is in more desperate need of private-sector opportunities.
"E pluribus unum" may be the motto of our oft-hated neighbours to the south, but there is truth to it. We need all northerners to stand together if we want Ottawa to sit up and take notice of us.

Message: We HAVE to be separate from Southern Ontario. Let Northern Ontario speak for Northern Ontario. Bring back the Spring Bear hunt.(I do not hunt bear) Stop giving our natural resources to the Americans. Build secondary industries in the north. Bring government jobs to the towns that need employment. Stop making Northern Ontario one big park. Remove regulations/rules that hinder growth in the North. We are being dictated by Southern Ontario and it must stop. They couldn't care less about us.
